Fox Lakeview Lodge owes its roots to Marcus Fleming, who along with wife Frances built the 40-room "Mar-Fran Motel" in 1955. It was a significant landmark in the Fox Lake resort community, and one of the few places Black people could stay and dine in the area. (Colbert Family Collection).
